What drives decayless kink oscillations in active-region coronal loops on the Sun?

چکیده
Here, we present a study of the phenomena decayless kink oscillations in system active-region (AR) coronal loops. Using high-resolution observations from two different instruments, namely Extreme Ultraviolet Imager (EUI) on board Solar Orbiter and Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) Dynamics Observatory, follow these AR loops for an hour each three consecutive days. Our results show significantly more resolved waves higher resolution EUI data compared with AIA data. Furthermore, same exhibits many Day 2, while detect very few 3 , find none at all 1. Analysis photospheric magnetic field reveals that, most time, were rooted sunspots, where supergranular flows are generally absent. This suggests that flows, which often invoked as drivers waves, not necessarily driving such our observations. Similarly, findings also cast doubt other possible transient driver or mode conversion longitudinal near loop footpoints. In conclusion, analysis commonly suspected sources proposed to drive seem be operating this event, therefore search elusive wave needs continue.

Excitation of standing kink oscillations in coronal loops
In this work we review the efforts that have been done to study the excitation of the standing fast kink body mode in coronal loops. We mainly focus on the time-dependent problem, which is appropriate to describe flare or CME induced kink oscillations. The analytical and numerical studies in slab and cylindrical loop geometries are reviewed. We discuss the results from very simple one-dimension...
متن کاملResonant damping of kink oscillations of cooling coronal magnetic loops
The simultaneous effect of amplification due to cooling and damping due to resonant absorption on the kink oscillations of coronal loops is studied. The governing equation describing the kink oscillations is derived in the thin tube thin boundary layer approximation. The cooling time is assumed to be much larger than the oscillation period, and the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) method is used...
متن کاملEclipse observations of high-frequency oscillations in active region coronal loops
One of the mechanisms proposed for heating the corona above solar active regions is the damping of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves. Continuing on previous work, we provide observational evidence for the existence of high-frequency MHD waves in coronal loops observed during the August 1999 total solar eclipse. A wavelet analysis is used to identify twenty 4×4 arcsec2 areas showing intensity osci...
متن کاملSausage oscillations of coronal loops
Aims. Analytical theory predicts the existence of trapped global (or fundamental) sausage fast magnetoacoustic modes in thick and dense coronal loops only, with the periods estimated as the ratio of double the loop length and the Alfvén speed outside the loop. We extend this study to the leaking regime, considering global sausage modes of long loops with small density contrasts. Methods. Anti-s...
متن کاملMHD Sausage Mode Oscillations in Coronal Loops
A recent study by Nakariakov et al. pointed out that the dispersion relation of MHD sausage mode oscillations has been incorrectly applied to coronal loops, neglecting the highly dispersive nature of the phase speed and the long-wavelength cutoff of the wave number. In the light of these new insights we revisit previous observations that have been interpreted in terms of MHD sausage mode oscill...
